Suitable Operating Centres

When deciding on where you intend to keep your HGV or PSV vehicle(s) it is important to remember that it must suitable.

When making an Operator Licence application it is essential you have considered the suitability of the Operating Centre.

Here are a few points to bear in mind.

1) Can a vehicle easily enter and exit the premises in forward gear?

2) Is the premises in or close to a residential area, if so, are local residents likely to object?

3) When leaving the Operating Centre and joining the Highway is there good visibility, at least 75m clear visibility before bends, rises in the road etc?

4) When accessing the Operating Centre are there any vehicle weight restrictions on the roads leading to it that could render the site unsuitable?
